Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Global Beef Health (“the App”), operated by Beauregard Nordwood, handles information when you use the mobile application and its companion service at https://debra.globalbeef.space.
1. Overview
The App helps veterinary practitioners keep herd clinical records, follow-ups, reference material, and optional training drills. There are no user accounts or passwords. The App identifies a device with an anonymous identifier stored in the device Keychain.
2. Information we process
Depending on how you use the App, we may process:
- Practice profile. Display name, optional practice or clinic name, and a district or area name that you type yourself.
- Device identifier. An anonymous device ID used to associate server-side data with your installation. It is not linked to your Apple ID or advertising identifiers.
- Clinical history. Animal and case records you enter (for example ear tags, diagnoses, examinations, treatments, notes) when the App syncs history or statistics with the companion service.
- Drill activity. Scores and results from optional clinical drills, shown on a weekly leaderboard by display name only.
- Anonymous case signals. If contribution is enabled, the App may send district, diagnosis code, category, ISO week, and severity. Animal tags, names, and your identity are not included in signal reports.
- Local preferences. Units, reminder timing, and optional device authentication (Face ID / passcode) remain on your device and are used only to unlock or configure the App locally.
- Push notification tokens. If you grant notification permission, Apple Push Notification service tokens are registered through OneSignal so operational alerts can be delivered. The App links OneSignal to the same anonymous device identifier used for API requests.
- Technical data. Basic request metadata needed to operate the service (for example app version and platform when the device registers).
3. How we use information
- To provide and maintain clinical history and practice statistics.
- To deliver reference content and daily drill decks.
- To show district or global signal boards when enough devices contribute.
- To operate the weekly drill leaderboard.
- To deliver push notifications you allow via OneSignal / APNs.
- To respond to support or privacy requests you send us.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use the App for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
4. Push notifications
If you grant notification permission, the App may register with Apple Push Notification service through OneSignal so we can send operational alerts. You can revoke permission at any time in iOS Settings. Local clinical reminders scheduled on the device do not require our servers.
5. Where data is stored
Clinical records and preferences are stored on your device. When the App communicates with the companion backend, device-scoped history, statistics, drill results, device registration details, and optional anonymous signals may be stored on servers that host debra.globalbeef.space.
6. Sharing
We do not share your clinical records with other practitioners as identified case files. Anonymous signal boards aggregate diagnosis counts by district or globally and may suppress results when too few devices contribute, to reduce re-identification risk. Drill leaderboards show truncated display names and scores, not device IDs.
We may use infrastructure providers (hosting, OneSignal for push delivery) strictly to run the service. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the security and integrity of the service.
7. Retention
Data associated with your anonymous device ID is retained while needed to provide the service. You may delete local App data on the device. To request deletion of server-side data tied to your device, contact us using the email below and include enough detail for us to locate the relevant records.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to a companion service of this size, including transport encryption (HTTPS) and access limited to operating the backend. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Children
The App is intended for professional veterinary use and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International users
If you access the service from outside the region where the servers are operated, your information may be processed in the country where the hosting provider is located.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
